Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (born September 4, 1981) is a popular American R&B singer, songwriter, and actress. She performs under the stage name Beyoncé. Knowles rose to stardom as a founding member and the lead singer of Destiny's Child, "music's most successful female trio". After a series of commercially successful records with the group, she released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love (2003), which spawned the highly successful song "Crazy in Love" and topped both the R&B and Billboard 200 charts in the U.S. and the main album charts in Canada and the United Kingdom.

Knowles has won nine Grammy Awards — six for her solo work, and three as a member of Destiny's Child. She has a successful film career and co-starred in Austin Powers in Goldmember, one of the highest grossing films of 2002.

Knowles released her second solo album B'Day on September 4, 2006 around the world and September 5, 2006 in the United States. Her album release will coincide with the celebration of her twenty-fifth birthday. The albums first set of singles were "Deja Vu", "Ring The Alarm", & "Irreplaceable". "Irreplaceable" held tight to the number one spot for over eight weeks straight. The spanish version of this song also reached the number 4 spot on the Hot Latin Tracks. Beyonce is set to release a Special Edition of "B'Day" featuring new tracks such as "Beautiful Liar" featuring Shakira. It is also rumored that she would be releasing a full spanish album in 2007.

Beyoncé will start a World Tour promoting her latest album B'Day in 2007. On September 12, 2006, tour packages and pre-sale tickets went on sale to members of Beyoncé's Official Fan Club (beyonce.com) for select shows in the UK and Europe. Some tour packages include tour merchandise and a meet and greet pass to meet Beyoncé at the concert. The 2007 World Tour will include shows in Japan, Australia, and the US.
